The New Babe!

Well I guess it is time to update this thing. It has been a while! Since I last posted as you may or may not know, I am expecting again! Lance, Ian and I are so thrilled to be welcoming another little one into our family. We still don't have a name for him yet, but hopefully that will come before we leave the hospital! Ian was named a week before we had him, so we are hope full!

In other news, Lance just got over being sick, and now it looks like it might be my turn to play the role. I previously thought mine was allergies but woke up with a slight fever this morning, so I think it may be a bit more. AT least Lance is feeling better and so far Ian shows no signs.

This past weekend we went shopping for the new one and snagged a few things for big kid. We got them the cutest matching outfits for The New One's first pictures. Ian is also going to wear his for his Christmas photos.

Speaking of my Little Man, he started school a few eeks back. My friend found a program designed for 2 year old kids where the mom or dad, or caregiver can come with the child. So far it has been more of a play date thing where they read a story about 45 minutes into the class, have a snack and go home thing. But on the bright side, he is learning to play with other kids and has gotten over most of his stranger phobia. He is just growing up so fast! Lance and I have both noticed that in the last week his vocabulary has exploded as has his ability to communicate exactly what he wants from you! He is turning out the be quite bossy.

Littlest Man is growing right on target and moves around all the time. He has his quite days, but is usually up at night. I seem to be bigger this time around so I feel him a lot higher.

Well, I guess I had better get going. Ian is about to get up and I need to be ready.

Been a while

Hello all. It has been a while so I figured that I wqould come on and say hi. My computer has been out for a few days because someone accidentally dropped an entire coffee mug of water on it. Well, maybe not someone, maybe it was me, but who is keeping track right?

Anyway, my parents and cousin Cassie are in town for the week and have been since Sat. It has been a great trip so far and we have actually managed to do a lot. Today was blueberry picking, yesterday was Lake Huron, the day before it was the water park and some site seeing, etc. Anyway, it has been busy and fun.

Other then that, not much has been going on. Lance is thinking about doing a marathon here soon. Fortunantly for him he is one of those guys who says he wants to do it and really doesn't have to put much training into it. He is thinking about the Sep. time frame, so we shall see. I guess we just need to find him one now.

Well, I guess that was short and sweet after all. Didn't have all that much to say. Time to get dressed for Zumba. Teaching a few new routines tonight so hoepfully all goes well.
Love,
Kris

My Finished Project

Here is the finished product on the sleeping bag. This is one that I have done for my friends child. I have butterflies, frogs, and sports themes to do for the auction. I am not sure if I will have all 3 done in time since they take about 6 hours total to complete and we have family coming soon. I will try my hardest and hopefully post those soon. The first is what it looks like unfolded and ready to use. The second is a picture of it folded up in itself. I sewed a pouch on the back of the pillow to stuff the bag in.

Sewing Projects

I started working on my sewing projects for the auction that my friend Sam is working with. Not sure why I volunteered to sew stuff instead of just buying something. I am seriously challenged in the sewing department.

Anyway, I bought a lot of really cute fleece fabric and started off by making my friend Ashley's little girl a toddler size sleeping bag with attached pillow for her birthday. She will be 2 in August. Assuming that I can find more ribbon that matches the one I have already sewed on it, it will end up being pretty cute. I have seen them done before and really liked them. Of course this one is no where near that caliber or quality, but it is still pretty cute. Once I get my camera batteries up and running I'll take pics.

In other news it is raining once again in lovely Michigan. Not sure why anyone would want to live here. It is either cold or wet, or both. We have a few nice days here and there so I guess that somewhat makes up for the weather mentioned previously.

I am so tired so I think I am going to go and take advantage of what In has left of nap time. Talk to you all later.

Our new ride

Well today was a good day for getting a car! We picked up our new ride around 1300. She has driven all over the Tri-Cities. Anyway, here she is. All shiney and new and pretty! In case you were wondering what we got we got a Ford Edge. We drove one as a rental once and have loved them since. Please forgive the small amount of not so good pictures. My camera battery died right as I was trying to take them.

Car shopping is very ... interesting!

Car shopping is a very interesting thing. Yesterday we went back to the Ford dealership here in town to make our offer on the vehicle we wanted. Well, since the previous day the guy (sales manager) was a little insulting to me I asked Lance if he would mind me taking care of everything myself. Apparently the guy had a problem with the fact that I was in possession of a vagina! When I would ask questions he would answer Lance and ignore me. Come to find out Lance wasn't too thrilled with him either. Anyway, so I go in to make the offer, I have all my paper work ready, my speech nailed, comparable sales in our area, plus Lance's discount for working with Dow, the whole nine yards. I was ready to make my fair deal.

First off, the lady trying to make to deal got a little feisty with me, and if you know me my reaction to is to get that way right back. However, I didn't. I knew I could go else where so I was cool. Since she wasn't winning the argument she called the sales manager over to explain to me why I was wrong. After a few minutes of him cutting me eyes he committed the biggest sin in dealing with me in my book. He said "shit". That's right. You see it. He said it. He said "I don't give a shit what that paper says". He wasn't nice about it either. As if you could be being nice when you say that. I was a little mad at that point but still didn't show it. I nicely told him we couldn't accept what he was offering and got up and left.

After we left we ended up driving to another dealership out in the middle of no where. The guy was really nice and patient. He was able to make me the deal I wanted and he took the time to explain everything to me. Since it was 2100 by the time we left his place we were unable to take the SUV home that night. We actually go to pick it up around noon today. It isn't anything fancy, no leather or automatic seats and a sun roof. I wasn't looking for the extras. I just wanted something reliable with good reviews and crash test ratings. Lance and I are actually very pleased. We have so much more room in the seating area. We lost a lot in the cargo area, but the seating was what I was after. Great vehicle to install car seats in! Yeah, I am so a mom, I know!

Anyway, I guess I had better get going. Talk to you all again soon.

Car Trouble

I was just bragging about how good our non-American cars were to a friend of mine. She was looking to buy and I was telling her that our cars have never given us an problems. Well it turns out that I was so about to eat those words. On Thursday Lance called me at 0615 and asked to come and pick him up off the side of the road. Apparently the front drive shaft completely broke off and he was unable to go anywhere. So, I got Ian out of bed, put some clothes on and went in search of Lance. Since this town isn't big and since he was only a quarter of a mile from our house, it wasn't very hard! It looks like it will cost about a grand to get it fixed, assuming that is the only problem. Since they can't move, they don't know for sure.

Then,oh then, on Friday the air went out in the BMW. When I got home I got a letter in the mail saying that our BMW was part of a class action law suit about the sub frame. The air eventually came back on, and assuming the class action get settled, all is well there.

So after all of that car mess we have decided that we should start looking for a more reliable SUV that is under warranty and won't break the bank. Because of the latter we are limited on what we can get. We have narrowed it down to 2 that we really like and it pretty much depends on if the dealer is going to be willing to give us the price we want. We want what's fair so hopefully there won't be any issues but you can never tell. On Saturday when we went in they tried giving us prices that we knew were not right but since we didn't want to buy that day it gave us time to come up with a good plan of action to get what we want.

Anyway, dinner is ready and I am so hungry. Talk to you all later.
